Christine Robinson selected as Labour candidate for East Sussex County Council

Meridian Labour are pleased to announce Christine Robinson as our candidate for the Telscombe Division at the upcoming East Sussex County Council election, on Thursday May 6th 2021.

Christine is currently a town councillor on Telscombe Town Council and a district councillor for Telscombe and East Saltdean.

"It’s been a real privilege to represent East Saltdean since being initially elected at a town council by-election in 2018. I was deeply honoured that residents chose to re-elect me in 2019 as well as having the confidence to elect me as the district councillor for Telscombe and East Saltdean. Sadly, many of our key services are provided by East Sussex and we desperately need effective representation there.”

Christine Robinson - A bit about me...

I live in Telscombe Cliffs, with my husband, a small business owner and our three dogs who I am lucky to be able to walk every day on the beautiful Tye or cliff tops. As a former school governor, education is important to me and that is why I want to see that our local school in Telscombe remains under local authority control.

Why change is important…

Living here, and seeing the traffic everyday means I’m painfully aware of the issues it brings. Locally, we’re all aware of the view of East Sussex County Council to the A259. Until the problem is recognised, nothing will change. I’m offering an opportunity for us to make a change. We’ve already seen the impact of the Cooperative Alliance at Lewes, on the issue of coastal erosion, following our announcement of a partnership with the Environment Agency.
