Adrian Selby your Telscombe Town Council Candidate

Meridian Labour are pleased to announce our candidate for the Telscombe Town Council by-election, on Thursday May 6th 2021.

The by-election was called following the resignation of a previously elected Conservative councillor. A spokesperson for the Meridian Labour Executive Committee said, "We're obviously disappointed that taxpayers will once again be saddled with the burden of a by-election. However, we are really pleased that Adrian has put himself forward to serve the community -- his experience will be a real asset to the council."

Adrian Selby - A bit about me...

I’ve had a varied career over the last thirty years, from manufacturing, buying, running a small business and then becoming a teacher. I moved to the south-east twenty five years ago and have settled into software development ever since, managing teams for companies such as EA, Disney, BP and Warner Brothers. I’ve also got a couple of novels published, and continue to enjoy writing.

Why I'd like to be involved...

As a former teacher I’m keen to help resist the academisation of local schools, which I believe will worsen outcomes for all our children. Our local green spaces are more important than ever at this moment in time and the council, in partnership with the community, are progressing initiatives to make the most of the Tye and Chatsworth Park for all. I would love to be a part of those efforts if elected.
